PATENT: ROWTCS (ROute borne early Warning and Train Control Systems)

is a patent which had been achieved in late year 1993.This project was started since 1978. During those period a no. of train accidents had occurred. The concept of this project was developed, as to how to prevent such accidents on same track.

A part of systems installed inside tran driver cabin inform him about any other train, installed with similar system, coming from front or back side, speed and distance. And more ….

-What is embedded system-

The word”em-bed-ded” means embed to bed i.e. some external object becomes part of a bed. Here, to a user this bed looks like a common bed only, as there is no change to external structure. Now question “what is role of this external object?”. The role of external object is to enhance overall feature/ functioning of this bed.

To our electrical-electronics domain, this external object represents any dedicated electrical-electronics controller devices and this bed structure represents any mechanical systems. This mechanical look like systems becomes an embedded product. For example Lift, electronic wrist watch, microwave oven etc are embedded systems.

Lift looks like a mechanical system but their operations are being controlled by dedicated controllers to make door opening-closing, moving up-down soother and smart. Laptop, desktop computers are not embedded systems as they are not designed to provide dedicated services but to multi users to their own ways.
